Our Course Offerings

STNA

Our STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) course trains individuals to become certified nursing assistants who can provide basic care and support to patients in healthcare settings. Participants learn essential skills such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and transferring patients, as well as measuring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities. The course also covers infection control, communication skills, and the legal and ethical aspects of patient care, preparing students for a career in healthcare and ensuring they can provide quality care to those in need.

Phlebotomy

Our Phlebotomy course* teaches individuals the essential skills and techniques required to safely and accurately collect blood samples from patients. Students learn proper vein identification, venipuncture procedures, infection control measures, and how to handle various blood collection equipment, ensuring they can perform this critical medical task effectively and with patient comfort in mind.

CPR/First Aid

Our CPR/First-Aid course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to emergencies effectively. Students learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on individuals experiencing cardiac arrest and administer basic first-aid techniques for injuries, such as wound care, splinting, and managing choking incidents. These courses aim to empower individuals to provide immediate assistance and potentially save lives in critical situations.

Student Transport

We understand that our students may have challenges that impact their ability to be immersed in our courses. As a result, we are more than happy to provide transportation for students to and from the school to ensure they can pursue their education without any block!!

Lunch & Learn On Us

FirstStep STNA Certification Program provides free lunches in our 8-hour sessions, encompassing 1 skill day and 2 clinical days. This effort keeps students concentrated on their studies, creating an optimal setting for improving skills and clinical knowledge.

An STNA is a nursing assistant who has passed state-specific competency tests (ours being Ohio based), qualifying them to provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing and medical staff.

To become an STNA in Ohio, you must complete a 75-hour state-approved training program, which includes both classroom and clinical instruction, and then pass the state competency examination.

Yes! STNAs are in high demand in Ohio, especially due to the aging population and the shortage of nursing assistants reported in recent years.
